Delft, 6 May 2026 — Sinko Group today announces the acquisition of Kuwait Petroleum Research & Technology B.V., an established company with more than 60 years of experience in the oil and gas industry in the Port of Rotterdam. Through this acquisition, Sinko ID is introduced as the new name and entity fully dedicated to accelerating the energy transition and the development of the circular economy.
Open innovation campus of international scale
With Sinko ID, Sinko Group is developing an open innovation campus of international stature. The campus covers approximately 40,000 m² of land, and approximately 6,000 m² of buildings equipped with laboratories, office spaces, workshops, and testing facilities. This creates a unique environment where technology development, validation, and scale-up come together.
Sinko ID is deliberately structured as an open ecosystem, working closely with universities, universities of applied sciences, and international research institutes, as well as industrial partners from the Netherlands and abroad. This setup enables companies to accelerate innovation from fundamental research to commercial application.
Accelerator for start-ups, scale-ups, and employment
Sinko ID serves as an integrated platform facilitating start-ups and scale-ups active in (sustainable) energy, hydrogen, CCS, circular feedstocks, and industrial decarbonisation. Several young technology companies have already indicated their intention to establish themselves on the campus in the near future.
